Huge baby chicks now

Mum is busy feeding them (or is it dad?) hopping about the grass, I peeped in to have a quick look to see how they are getting on, the chicks are BIG what a difference in them, beaks wide open, wee souls.
Then walking back along the river this morning after our coffee, a mum and her tiny ducklings swimming along in a line, at least 8 ducklings, so long as they stay at 8 ! hopefully no larger birds come along and take any :-(

  1. That's brilliant news! I've been wondering about them but have had internet problems for most of this week. Did they turn out to be blackbirds?

  2. What kind of birds are they? We have some young cardinals feeding at our black sunflowers seed feeder here in MN. They are not completely feathered out in their adult colors yet, but you can tell which are males and which are females. We had a nest of ducks in the flower bed in WI but I did not get to see them after they hatched. My son did see some of the babies. There is a pond two blocks away but that is a long walk for little ones.
