The new washing machine and dishwasher arrived late this afternoon. I think when we bought this house 7 1/2 years ago, the previous owners had put in a new washer and dishwasher to spruce up the kitchen. After 7 years the lettering on the front of the dishwasher had worn away, so putting 2 and 2 together they must have just put them in otherwise it would have worn away with them using the appliances ........ then again maybe they didn't use them!
Anyway as the seal was going on both of them, we decided to splash out on 2 new appliances. But wine is open and I don't think I would concentrate on reading the manuals tonight!
Mind you, we pressed a button accidentally on the dishwasher and it started up!! and this was before the guys were even out of the driveway! So we checked the booklet and after a couple of false starts it stopped and drained. THEN we took the bits of packaging out that was still inside whist it was running!
I don't like manuals, I need them to read along the lines of....... Press 1 and then A. Then press 2 and then B........ If it is too technical then my eyes glaze over!

directions are for amateurs! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis is my first visit to your blog. I want to thank you for your visit and comment on my blog. Following directions and manuals is not one of my favorite things to do. I hope you will be a visitor to my blog from now on. I will certainly visit your blog. Have a blessed evening. Madeline
ReplyDeleteI'm with Erika, throw caution to the wind, start pressing buttons, the worst that could happen is you get to test the warranty, lol! Actually we splurged with some new appliances this past year as well and it was turn it on, turn it off at first, now we have the timers down, self cleaning and the works! All without ever opening the directions, typical guy thing, you should give it a try. In fact, if it works, you'll feel like an Einstein, if it doesn't work or worse yet break, I always blame the manufacturer (but don't tell anyone, he, he).

ReplyDeleteHi. I'm doing a bit of catching up on blog posts. Well I wouldn't have a clue. I HATE things like that. Our boiler, a Worcester Bosch combi boiler, has the most complicated controls you can imagiine and it really does bit back if you press the wrong thing. You have to tap your way through seven days of on time, off time, on time off time for both heat and water before it will take you back to where you first went wrong, and by then you are so enraged you've kicked and thumped the thing many times over.
