Hogmanay in Tenerife

We are not long back from a lovely week's holiday in Tenerife, warm sunshine, lovely hotel and lovely food.  New Years Eve was different for us, it made a lovely change from sitting at home looking at the hands of the clock going round waiting for 12pm.

We had a relaxing week, sitting in cafe's drinking coffee and beers/wine, sitting by the pool, which we never do when away as I am not good in the full sun, and to sit there all day is boring, but we sat with a book or just dozed so that was different again for us. Then a bit of geocaching, only one found as all the others were too far away from where we were staying, but I can now say we have geocached in Tenerife.

Hogmanay was fun, cocktails before dinner on the terrace listening to a lady in a beautiful evening dress singing, the terrace covered in balloons and lights.  Then in for dinner, with complimentary wine and bubbly.   Then before the bells we went for a walk in the warm evening air.   Back to the hotel where we had booked a table in the bar area which again was beautifully decorated with hundreds of balloons, each seat had a large party bag.  Our pre ordered bubbly sitting in an ice bucket, then a nice young Welsh couple joined us, they had asked earlier in the day if they could sit with us in the evening.   After the bells it was outside to watch the firework display. A totally different experience for us.  and well worth it.

We flew from Birmingham, as we had spent a week over christmas with our older daughter son in law and little granddaughters in Leicestershire.

A few photographs for you to see of some of the surrounding area.    The shoe one above is a drop down to the sea, we were sat on a seat over looking this area.

Happy New Year everyone.
