After building the hedgehog cottage.......

I am now off to build an.................................. ark !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All of you "Down south" please do not post that you are having  the heatwave, BBQ's and sunbathing!!!!!!!  :-(          :-(       :-(

We had torrential rain overnight (or so hubby said)

Went in to town for bits and pieces and our coffee, sat at the window in Cafe Nero and watched the monsoon weather.

The road is flooded just along from us, the road dips and the two puddles (!) on either side meet!

I remember a couple of years back when I was walking our Border Collie we had then, the road was flooded and a car with 2 men it in it were laughing and headed for the puddle just in front of us, but I read his mind !!!!! and waited.......the so and so wanted to soak us.  If he had I would have reported him as it would have been intentional.

Under the railway bridge in town it is always flooded or at least big puddles at the side when it rains, hubby managed to get through but I had to wait back until the lights changed so I could run through, if the drivers had taken their time going under the bridge then folk would not get soaked.

At least it seems to have eased off to a steady downpour now  :-(

A day indoors so we are going to tidy the loft out, now I wonder if the plans for the ark are in there?

  1. I will say nothing about the weather here - but you were telling me the other week - that I should book a holiday in Scotland, and 'take in' all your beautiful scenery. I'm sure you do get dry days, but looking at the BBC weather, your 'neck of the woods' does seem to be very exposed to the rain coming in from the Atlantic. I could of course take up surfing of scuba diving and then it wouldn't matter. :)
To be honest, I would LOVE to visit the western isles. I have just been reading Wainwright's book about walking the west coast and of course, including, Skye.
    Cheers......Bernard

  3. I hope you get a break in the weather soon.

You can send some of your rain to Southern California, USA.
We need all the rain we can get.

Have a nice week Ann :-)

& BTW, thanks for your recent comment on my WCS post. ~Ron

  5. Ann,

You made me laugh this morning. Sorry about all the rain...but they say "When it rains, it pours!" I know there are many parts of the world that would love to have the life giving rain. Many are starving in Africa, and the drought and heat in Texas and other states here has taken a tole on the economies of the different states. At least you are not getting extreme heat for months at a time. I think that would be more difficult. Grow webbed toes and paddle home! LOL!

    Love, Martha

  6. It is SOOOOOOO annoying when you know others are getting glorious sun and you aren't. It happens here when we get localised heavy cloud and drizzle and go to the top of the hill for a wide view, and places only 12 miles or so away are basking in sunshine. It's enough to make you GRRRRR!!!! (or else get in the car and go there.)
